Understanding the Autopilot Spend Boost
How to maximize your monthly budget and increase visibility by prioritizing ad spend over ACOS.

The Autopilot Spend Boost is an optimization feature in m19 designed to maximize your ad spend when your campaigns are under-utilizing their daily budget. By temporarily prioritizing budget consumption over strict ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sales) targets, it allows sellers to capture more visibility and sales volume.
What is the Autopilot Spend Boost?
The Spend Boost is a tool that tells the m19 algorithm to prioritize spending your full daily budget, even if it means temporarily ignoring your ACOS target.
Typically, m19's Autopilot is conservative; it limits bids to ensure you achieve your specific ACOS goals. However, if your ACOS target is too strict, you might underspend and miss out on valuable traffic. Activating Spend Boost shifts the strategy from efficiency (hitting ACOS) to volume (spending budget).
Note: ACOS targets are disabled while Spend Boost is active. The system focuses entirely on utilizing your allocated budget.
Why is m19 recommending the Spend Boost?
You may see a "Spend Boost Recommended" notification on your dashboard. This automated suggestion appears when the system detects significant under-spending.
Specifically, the recommendation is triggered if your ad spend over the last 2 days is less than two-thirds of your daily budget:

This indicates that your current settings are too restrictive, and you have unused budget that could be generating sales.
How does the Spend Boost algorithm work?
When you activate the boost, the optimization logic changes in two distinct ways:
-
Prioritizes Spend over ACOS: The algorithm stops restricting bids based on your efficiency targets. It bids more aggressively to ensure your ads are shown.
-
Targets a Monthly Goal: It calculates a monthly spending goal based on your daily setting ($Daily Budget \times 30$). If activated mid-month, it intelligently calculates a proportional budget for the remaining days to maximize investment without overspending.
How to activate the Spend Boost
-
Look for the recommendation pop-up on your main Autopilot dashboard.
-
Read the prompt: "We've noticed your recent ad spend is lower than your daily budget..."
-
Click the Activate Spend Boost button.
Once enabled, a banner labeled Spend Boost Active will appear at the top of your dashboard to confirm the status.
How to turn off the Spend Boost
You can return to standard ACOS optimization at any time.
-
Locate the Spend Boost Active banner on the dashboard.
-
Click Stop Spend Boost.
-
Confirm your choice.
Warning: High ACOS Deactivation
If you deactivate the boost, the system reviews your performance during the boost period.
-
If ACOS was low: The boost stops immediately, and your original settings are restored.
-
If ACOS was high: You will see a warning message. Reverting to a strict ACOS target immediately after running high-spend ads can cause a sudden drop in impressions.
