What is M19 Autopilot?
- Core Functionality:
- M19 Autopilot is an AI-based tool designed to manage and optimize your Amazon Sponsored Products campaigns with minimal input.
- It leverages your past sales data, optimizes bids on your keywords and product pages, and adjusts them daily based on your goals and market conditions.
- It creates a portfolio in your Amazon Ads console named "m19 autopilot" (or similar) to house the campaigns it generates.
- Key Benefits:
- Automates campaign management, saving time.
- Aims to optimize ad spend for better ACOS and ROAS.
- Simplifies tracking ad spend and sales.
- Signing Up & Initial Account Linking:
- When you sign up for Autopilot, you'll need to link your Amazon account to M19. This allows the AI to start collecting data and populate performance dashboards.
- This process usually involves granting M19 permission via Amazon's SP-API or OAuth.
- Creating Your Login:
- You'll need to create a login and password for the Autopilot platform, typically at https://autopilot.m19.com/login.
- Free Trial Period (30 Days):
- Autopilot offers a 30-day free trial period.
- During the trial, you can test the tool's functionalities.
- First Campaign Creation:
- After linking your account and setting an initial daily budget, Autopilot will start creating campaigns. This can take 24-48 hours.
- Updates and new campaigns are typically pushed to your Amazon Ads console the next morning (e.g., US updates around 7 AM PST).
- Selecting Marketplaces:
- You can add multiple marketplaces (e.g., US, CA, MX, UK, DE, FR, PL, SE) to a single Autopilot account.
- To add a new marketplace: Go to "Settings" > "My Account" > "Add a marketplace."
- The Amazon email/user used must have ad management permissions for the marketplace you wish to add.
- The advertising console for that marketplace must be activated (i.e., at least one campaign, even manual, must have been created in it historically).
-
- Subscription & Billing:
- Cost: After the 30-day free trial, Autopilot typically costs $49/month (this is for the tool's usage and does not cover ad spend).
- Payment: An automated payment system where you can enter card details directly in the Autopilot dashboard (Settings > Billing) is standard. You will receive an email notification a few days before the first billing.
- Continuing After Trial: You'll be prompted to enter billing details to continue. If you don't take action, the service will typically stop managing your ads.
- Managing ASINs (Whitelisting/Blacklisting):
- Default: Autopilot may include all ASINs by default for quick campaign launches.
- Customization: You can select which ASINs Autopilot manages. This is usually done in a "Manage ASINs" section within the Autopilot dashboard (often found top right of the graph).
- You can "whitelist" ASINs you want Autopilot to promote.
- You can "blacklist" (remove/deselect) ASINs you do not want Autopilot to promote.
- New ASINs: If you add a new ASIN to your Amazon catalog, it will automatically appear in Autopilot's catalog, usually within 24 hours. To advertise it, ensure it's added to the "Managed ASINs" list or whitelisted.
- Adding/Pausing Marketplaces:
- You can add multiple marketplaces under one Autopilot account.
- You can pause automation for individual marketplaces by clicking "Pause automation" on the Autopilot dashboard for that specific marketplace.
- Cancelling Your Subscription:
- To stop Autopilot and avoid future charges, you must "Pause automation" for all linked marketplaces in the Autopilot dashboard.
- This won’t stop you from being charged for the next billing cycle, you need to cancel in the billing section.
- You can also disconnect your Amazon account from Autopilot by going to "Settings" > "Accounts" (or "My Account"), selecting the account, and clicking the trash bin icon.
- How Autopilot Works (The Algorithm):
- Data-Driven: Autopilot's AI learns from your historical ad performance data (typically the last 2-3 months, as limited by Amazon's API).
- Optimization Goal: The primary goal is to achieve your target ACOS. If no ACOS target is set, it may operate to find an efficient ACOS.
- Bid Adjustments: It optimizes bids on keywords and product pages daily.
- If actual ACOS is higher than target ACOS, it reduces bids.
- If actual ACOS is lower than target ACOS, it may increase bids.
- Conservative Mode: If there's insufficient historical sales data, very high historical ACOS, or no conversions at current bid levels, the algorithm may switch to a "conservative mode," resulting in very low bids (e.g., $0.02) and low spend.
- Updates: Campaign changes are pushed to Amazon Seller Central once per day.
- Campaign Structure:
- Autopilot typically creates 3-4 main campaign types for Sponsored Products (Auto, Phrase, Exact, Product Targeting) grouped under a portfolio named "m19 autopilot" in your Amazon Ads console.
- You cannot modify this structure or rename Autopilot campaigns directly in Amazon; changes will be overwritten.
- Key Settings & How to Adjust Them:
- Daily Budget:
- Set in the Autopilot dashboard.
- It's a daily guideline, not a hard cap. The tool might spend more or less on a given day but aims for this average over the month.
- Increasing the daily budget alone will NOT force more spend if other conditions (like ACOS target) are restrictive.
- ACOS Target (Optional but Recommended):
- Set in the Autopilot dashboard.
- Setting an ACOS Target: Start with a target close to your historical ACOS (last 14-30 days). If no/poor history, start high (e.g., 100-200%).
- A target too low compared to historical performance will lead to low spend.
- To increase spend, you usually need to increase the ACOS target.
- Gradually lower the target once performance stabilizes.
- Daily Budget:
- Data & Reporting:
- Autopilot Dashboard: Primary place to monitor performance.
- Amazon Ads Console: View Autopilot-created campaigns in the "m19 autopilot" portfolio.
- Data Lag: The Autopilot dashboard typically updates with the previous day's full data each morning. Current day data is often incomplete.
- Manual Campaign Overlap:
- Crucial: Pause any existing manual Sponsored Products campaigns advertising the same ASINs as Autopilot.
- Overlapping campaigns disrupt Autopilot's learning and optimization.
- Campaigns Not Spending / Low Impressions / Low Clicks:
- ACOS Target Too Low: Most common cause. Increase ACOS target.
- No/Low Historical Ad Sales Data: Algorithm is conservative. Set a high initial ACOS target or run manual campaigns first for new products.
- Manual Campaign Overlap: Pause other campaigns for the same ASINs.
- Product Eligibility: Ensure products are in stock and Buy Box eligible.
- Incorrect ASINs Being Targeted:
- Ensure the desired ASIN is whitelisted/active in Autopilot's "Managed ASINs."
- ASINs Not Appearing for Selection:
- Could be a sync issue. Contact support.
- Budget/ACOS Changes Not Reflecting Immediately:
- Changes are pushed to Amazon daily, not instantly.
- Login Issues or Account Linking Problems:
- Try a hard refresh. Ensure correct Amazon user with ad permissions is logged in. Contact support if unresolved.
- Stats on Autopilot Dashboard Differ from Amazon Console:
- Data lag, tax exclusion, or promotion calculations in Autopilot can cause differences. For significant spend discrepancies, contact support with data from both platforms.
- Set Realistic ACOS Targets: Start near historical ACOS, adjust gradually.
- Pause Overlapping Manual Campaigns: Essential for Autopilot to work effectively.
- Be Patient: AI needs days/weeks to learn and optimize, especially with limited data.
- New Product Launches: Consider manual campaigns first for new products to gather initial data.
- Manage ASINs Actively: Use the "Managed ASINs" section.
- Do Not Modify Autopilot Campaigns in Amazon: Make all adjustments through the Autopilot dashboard.
- Understand Budget vs. ACOS: Daily budget is a cap; ACOS target is the primary lever influencing spend.
- Primary Channel: Email support at autopilot.support@m19.com.
- Providing Information: For issues, include screenshots, ASINs, date ranges, and your account email.
- No Call Support: Autopilot typically offers chat and email support.
- Help Center / FAQ: M19 often has help articles for common questions (links previously provided in emails).
